I can't see detailed maps when I zoom in.
You need to install detailed maps before they are visible. In 2D mode, touch the map
until a blue square appears and sweep out the area to download.
The GPS button doesn't work.
Things to check are:
- Go to the device's main settings screen and find "General - Location Services". Check that
UK Map is ON.
- Also in the main settings screen, make sure that "Airplane Mode" is off.
- Make sure that you have a good view of the sky, and be patient; it may take several minutes
to acquire a GPS fix under some circumstances.
- If you have an iPod touch or a WiFi iPad, your device does not have a GPS. It may be able
to find your location using nearby WiFi base stations, but this is unlikely to work outside urban
areas or if the device has not recently had an internet connection.
The 3D mode button is not shown.
3D mode is not available on the iPhone 3G and the 2nd generation (2008) iPod touch.
These devices also don't support the height tinting feature, though slope shading does work.
These restrictions are a result of the different graphics hardware on those devices.
The compass button is not shown.
The compass button is not shown if the device has no compass, or if it's running OS version 3;
this is because of a bug related to screen rotation in the older OS version.
